Ditch the Scroll. Rediscover the Reward.
Over the course of human history, think how much we have built, conquered and explored.
Dig deeper and consider how much effort (and even lives) we have committed to building, conquering and exploring.
And digging even deeper, it’s amazing how long the feedback loops use to be.
Often men, or families, would start a process knowing they would not live to experience the benefits or see the results of this process, but would hope their children (or even their grandchildren) might be the benefactors.
That’s a long feedback loop.
And a long time between dopamine and endorphin hits.
Compare that to now, where the internet hands us hits of dopamine for free — no effort required.
Over time, we become wired to chase these quick fixes online, instead of earning real rewards through building, conquering and exploring.
Break that cycle.
Return to your roots.
- Build (your body with resistance training, your mind with hill sprints, a business, a tree house, an empire, etc.)
- Conquer (your fears, a new skill, a marathon, etc.)
- Explore (hike, travel, new sales channels, join a new community).
